Cowdenbeath vs Glasgow Rangers preview - Gallagher misses out

Cowdenbeath will be without on-loan striker Callum Gallagher when Rangers visit Central Park.

The 20-year-old is not allowed to face his parent club and will be joined on the sidelines by John Armstrong (ankle), Kenny Adamson (foot) and Sammy Stewart (groin).

Manager Jimmy Nicholl is looking for his men to build on Saturday's fine 3-1 Scottish Cup success at Forfar.

Nicholl said: "That was a really tricky tie as Forfar are a strong side and we were going there after a 6-0 defeat from Falkirk.

"However the boys were terrific and scored three great goals. Rangers is another level of challenge but we have some confidence now."

Rangers goalkeeper Steve Simonsen returns to the Rangers squad for the trip.

The English goalkeeper suffered a head knock when he collided with a post during last Tuesday's League Cup win over St Johnstone and was ruled out of the Light Blues' William Hill Scottish Cup third round clash with Dumbarton at the weekend.

Marius Zaliukas (knee), Cammy Bell (shoulder) and Fraser Aird (thigh) remain on the sidelines.
