Ex-Barça player Gustau Biosca, one of the leading figures of Barcelona FC in the 1950s, has died at the age of 86. During the years that he played for the Catalan club, from 1950 until 1958, he was a bastion of his team's defence and an indisputable starter.
Despite his imposing size and great strength, Biosca was also very good on the ball. His great vision of the game gave him the ability to play some remarkable long balls from the edge of the defence up to the forwards.
The youngster from L'Hospitalet de Llobregat arrived at Barça's first team for the 1950/51 season and became a key figure in the team that won the club no less than five Cups. Along side the big man in the back row played Ramallets, Martín, Biosca, Seguer, Gonzalvo III, Bosch, Basora, César, Kubala, Vila and Manchón.
