Genoa are riding a hot streak with just one defeat in their last eight games heading into Sunday's match at Udinese.
The Grifoni edged previously unbeaten Juventus 1-0 on Wednesday, courtesy of Luca Antonini's last-gasp goal, to claim their third win in their last four league games.
Gian Piero Gasperini, whose side have climbed to ninth place, is not getting carried away by his team's impressive run.
"Against Juve, everything went to plan," Gasperini said to the Italian media. "We are delighted with the win and we dedicate it to our fans.
"However, we cannot lose prospective.
"We have to take it one game at a time, keep our heads down and continue to work hard.
"We want to have a good season in order to give our fans a lot more satisfactions."
Genoa travel to the Friuli stadium having to do without injured midfielders Ioannis Fetfatzidis and Tomas Rincon.
Rivals Udinese endured their worst defeat of the campaign in Wednesday's 3-0 reverse at Fiorentina.
The loss, Udinese's second in their last three games, dropped the Friuli outfit to sixth position, four places and one point clear of Genoa.
"We didn't deserve to lose by that margin," Udinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni told the Italian media. "But we must put this defeat behind us and concentrate on taking maximum points against Genoa.
"We cannot forget that our aim this season is to avoid the drop."
Udinese are unbeaten at the Friuli stadium, where they have collected 13 of a possible 15 points so far.
Cyril Thereau, who started on the bench against Fiorentina, is set to partner captain Antonio Di Natale's in Udinese's attack.
