Bordeaux vs Toulouse preview - Sagnol buoyed by cup victory

Bragging rights and Ligue 1 points will be the order of day on Sunday when Bordeaux and Toulouse line up for a second Garonne derby in the space of five days.
The south-west rivals met in the Coupe de la Ligue on Tuesday, with visitors Bordeaux claiming a 3-1 win at the Stadium Municipal and will have the chance to compound Toulouse's misery in front at Stade Chaban-Delmas.
Victory in the cup could provide a much-needed spark for Les Girdondins, who have taken a solitary point from their last three league outings.
Manager Willy Sagnol admitted: "The win in midweek has given us a little momentum.
"Hats off to the group for that because we have had problems and to perform so well is a big performance for this side.
Forward Thomas Toure, meanwhile, explained that Sagnol had also sounded a cautious note to the squad.
"Willy has given us advice, he is close to us, and while there is a small psychological advantage Toulouse will come to us with a desire for revenge," he said.
Andre Poko is suspended for the trip having been sent off last weekend against Paris St Germain, a punishment he feels was harsh.
"I did not think I deserved the red card even if the images show something else. It was not my intention to make a dangerous move," he said.
Toulouse manager Alain Casanova conceded he had been outdone by his opposite number in midweek and is eyeing an improvement.
"I was surprised by the 3-5-2 formation of Sagnol but I don't think that is not what made all the difference in the game," he said.
"Bordeaux took a psychological advantage but we go to Chaban-Delmas to win."
