Parma vs Inter Milan preview - Parma hoping for change of fortune

Parma coach Roberto Donadoni is keeping faith in his beleaguered side ahead of Saturday's clash against Inter Milan, despite their precarious position in the Serie A table.

The injury-hit Gialloblu have picked up just three points from a possible 27 so far this season, leaving them four points adrift of safety at the foot of the standings.

Wednesday's 1-0 defeat to Torino was their sixth consecutive loss and the pressure is mounting on Donadoni, who has been in charge of the Ducale club since 2011.

The former Italy coach is hoping for better times to come, though, and has taken heart from their midweek performance.

He said: "The determination shown by my team in the second half against Torino is a positive sign in view of our next games. We need to show that same hunger in order to build our future.

"It happens in football that when things don't go well, fortune also abandons you.

"In the next few games we will try to have luck on our side.

"We know that in our next matches, against Inter and Juventus, we face two very good sides.

"But we need to react and climb up in the standings.

"I hope that I will soon recover some players as right now we are plagued by injuries and this is complicating matters."

The hosts are without eight injured players and to add to their woes, defender Alessandro Lucarelli must serve a one-match ban this weekend.

Inter travel to the Ennio Tardini stadium looking to keep their recent momentum going.

The Nerazzurri won 1-0 against previously unbeaten Sampdoria at the San Siro on Wednesday, a result that followed their 1-0 triumph at Cesena.

Both those games were won by Mauro Icardi penalties, and the Argentinian striker said: "We have to continue on this path. We have another important game on Saturday and we need to recover.

"Our only focus is to win in order to continue to climb up in the standings.

Walter Mazzarri's Inter are in eighth place, one point adrift of city rivals AC Milan, who are fourth.

The Nerazzurri have won just once on the road this season and are hoping to recover defender Hugo Campagnaro and midfielder Hernanes, who are doubtful with minor knocks.
