Tranmere vs Stevenage preview - Ridehalgh doubtful once again

Injury-plagued full-back Liam Ridehalgh could return to the sidelines when Tranmere entertain Stevenage.

The defender came back from an ankle ailment to make a 35-minute cameo in his first outing of the season in Saturday's draw with AFC Wimbledon, only to pick up a hip problem.

He trained for the first time this week on Thursday and will now be assessed in the build up to kick-off.

Jason Koumas (groin), Cole Stockton (pelvis), Matt Hill (Achilles) and Danny Woodards (foot) all remain sidelined, but Steve Jennings could feature after returning for a third spell at Prenton Park this week.

Midfielder Simon Walton may return to action for Stevenage after resuming full training following six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.

Also on the mend is striker Adam Marriott, although Calvin Zola is likely to miss another five weeks due to an ankle injury. The former Aberdeen forward has not featured since early September.

Midfielder Dean Parrett managed only 19 minutes in a 1-0 home victory over Burton as a hip niggle proved too much for him to bear but left-back Jerome Okimo - formerly of Wealdstone - could feature having taken a place among the substitutes following hamstring trouble.

Stevenage have only won once away from home this season - at AFC Wimbledon in August - but back-to-back home victories mean Graham Westley's men are in a four-way tie for 13th place.
