Fleetwood Town vs Gillingham preview - McAlinden back at Wolves

Fleetwood's preparations for Gillingham have been hit by the news loanee Liam McAlinden has been recalled by Wolves.

The Sky Bet Championship club opted to bring the striker back to them 28 days into his 93-day loan to leave the Cod Army short in the attacking department given Jamie Proctor is suspended for one match along with midfielder Steven Schumacher.

David Ball could return to ease Graham Alexander's woes, though, having missed the Preston loss last weekend with a gash to his leg.

That would leave just Jamille Matt in the treatment room with his season-ending leg injury.

Skipper Doug Loft returns to the Gillingham squad after suspension.

The midfielder has completed a three-match ban after he was sent off during the 3-0 home defeat by Scunthorpe earlier this month.

Boss Peter Taylor also hopes to welcome back Kortney Hause, who has missed two games with a knee problem, but fellow defender Callum Davies is still struggling with a leg injury.

Stuart Nelson looks set to keep his place in goal after ousting Stephen Bywater for the last two matches.
