Evian Thonon Gaillard 0 : 2 Nantes - Surging Nantes climb to third

Nantes made it six games unbeaten in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 win away at Evian on Saturday night.
Jordan Veretout netted from the penalty spot three minutes before the break and Yacine Bammou completed the scoring 15 minutes from time.
Bordeaux's loss to Paris St Germain allowed Nantes to move up to third in the table while Evian remained just one point off the foot of the table.
It was the home side who threatened first with Daniel Wass chesting the ball to the onrushing Yeltsin Tejeda but his first-time shot went wide.
Wass then tried his luck from 40 yards with a set-piece but his effort missed the target.
Nantes had yet to wake up but they nearly had the lead just before the half-hour courtesy of Veretout who unleashed a shot after being found by Bammou, but Jesper Hansen tipped his strike onto the post.
Hansen made another save moments later as he punched away a Bammou shot but he was to be beaten shortly before the interval.
Cedric Mongongu brought down Serge Gakpe and Veretout made no mistake from 12 yards, finding the top corner.
Nantes had finished the first half in total control and that was how they began the second with Bammou freeing Gakpe who shot wide.
Gakpe then returned the favour but Bammou could only fire his shot straight at Hansen.
The pair eventually made it third time lucky and combined for their team's second goal when Gakpe fed Bammou who beat his man and fired low under Hansen.
Etey Shechter had a chance to make it 3-0 in the final minute but Hansen saved as Nantes comfortably saw out victory.
