Paris Saint Germain 3 : 0 Bordeaux - Lucas on the spot for PSG

Lucas Moura scored a pair of penalties as Paris St Germain served up a timely reminder of why they have ruled French football over the last two seasons.

Marseille might have made an express start to this campaign, but the giants from the capital remain unbeaten and Saturday's 3-0 victory over Bordeaux was a clear statement of intent.

Both sides had a man sent off in the first half, with straight red cards going to Gregory van der Wiel and Andre Poko for heavy challenges.

Lucas scored his spot-kicks late in the first half and early in the second period, with Ezequiel Lavezzi grabbing the third late on.

Even without Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Edinson Cavani, who were absent through injury and suspension respectfully, the Parisians are the class act of Ligue 1.

They soon took the initiative against a Bordeaux side who have impressed under new boss Willy Sagnol this season and shared second place with their hosts going into the match.

Home manager Laurent Blanc had expressed his hope that Bordeaux would attack his team, thus creating holes which the Parisians could exploit.

They had an opening midway through the first half when Lucas skipped past Poko and released Marco Verratti whose shot was deflected away off Thomas Toure.

Home defender Van der Wiel was ordered off in the 27th minute though, punished for a nasty challenge from behind on Whabi Khazri, but the teams were at 10-a-side seven minutes later when Poko caught Verratti on the knee and the inevitable red card followed.

From the free-kick that followed the foul, David Luiz cracked a 25-yard shot against the left post.

Verratti missed from close range before, with half-time beckoning, he went down under a challenge from Cedric Yembere to win a penalty. Lucas found the right corner from 12 yards.

The same player shot into the left corner of the Bordeaux net after PSG won their second penalty, in the 48th minute. It was Lucas responsible for earning the penalty, having his shirt tugged by Nicolas Pallois.

Bordeaux were a muted force, barely troubling the hosts, and Blaise Matuidi could have scored the hosts' third when he took on a lay-off from Javier Pastore and shot straight at Cedric Carrasso.

Carrasso was beaten for the third time when in the 81st minute Matuidi crossed and Argentinian striker Lavezzi clipped in a close-range strike.
