Raith Rovers vs Alloa Athletic preview - Perry set for Rovers return

Posted Friday, October 24, 2014 by PA

Raith have Ross Perry fit and looking for a starting role against visitors Alloa.

However, Christian Nade has suffered a recurrence of an ankle injury and will miss out for Rovers.

Dougie Hill is a doubt, with the injured Kevin Cuthbert (shoulder), Craig Barr (knee) and Calum Elliot (foot) all remaining absent.

The Kirkcaldy men are looking to bounce back from a 6-1 defeat at the hands of Rangers last time out and manager Grant Murray said: "We got ourselves back into the game at 2-1 but finished the afternoon in a disappointing way.

"We will look to move on from that by defeating Alloa for a second time this season."

Bottom-of-the-table Alloa have a fitness doubt over Greig Spence and he could join Iain Flannigan (back) in missing out at Stark's Park.

Better news for the Wasps is the return to fitness of Darryl Meggatt, who is expected to return to defensive duty.

Manager Barry Smith said: "Kirkcaldy is always a difficult place to go and they will be hurting after their defeat to Rangers last weekend.

"However, we are determined to bounce back from our own disappointment as our performance in the 3-2 defeat from Cowdenbeath was poor.

"We know that we can play better and hopefully we will in this game."
