Crewe Alexandra vs Sheffield United preview - Cooper quandary for Alex

Steve Davis must decide whether teenage prodigy George Cooper warrants a recall against Sheffield United.

The 17-year-old forward started Tuesday's win over Peterborough on the bench after complaining of cramp and Marcus Haber, who replaced him in the squad, scored the winner as the Alex made it three wins in a row.

Boss Davis could also call on Notts County loanee Danny Haynes, who was an unused substitute in midweek after only joining the club hours earlier.

Harry Davis' return from a long-term knee problem is imminent while young forward Ryan Colclough (hernia) has resumed training, although Liam Nolan (ankle) faces six weeks on the sidelines.

Sheffield United midfielder James Wallace is hoping to return to the squad after missing the last two games due to a groin injury.

Defender Jay McEveley remains doubtful after injuring his shoulder in last weekend's win at Bradford so teenager Harry McGahey is likely to resume in defence.

Strikers Michael Higdon and Jose Baxter are both pushing for recalls to the starting line-up, but Marc McNulty is expected to start again as he has scored in the Blades' last three matches.

Nigel Clough's side are chasing a third straight league win and are unbeaten in their last four in all competitions.
