Port Vale vs Leyton Orient preview - N'Guessan added to Vale squad

New signing Dany N'Guessan is expected to go straight into the Port Vale squad against Leyton Orient.

Vale signed the 27-year-old free agent striker on Thursday, before confirming that leading scorer Tom Pope has an injury and is a doubt ahead of the weekend.

Pope is understood to have suffered a knee injury during the 2-2 home draw with Scunthorpe in midweek but the Valiants say the striker is still being assessed so they are not commenting further on the problem at this stage.

Teenage forward Harry Panayiotou joined Vale on loan from Leicester at the start of the week and he will hope to be involved on Saturday. Stephane Zubar is still suspended.

Orient can welcome back their first-choice centre-halves, Mathieu Baudry and skipper Nathan Clarke, from suspension.

But interim boss Kevin Nugent's injury problems are piling up with Romain Vincelot and Jack Price doubtful.

Vincelot missed Tuesday night's 2-0 win over Doncaster with a knee injury and fellow midfielder Price limped off late in the game, so both will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Adam Legzdins (finger), Dean Cox, Gary Sawyer (both knee), Lloyd James (broken leg), Kevin Lisbie (shoulder) and David Mooney (ankle) are still on the casualty list.
