Crawley vs Walsall preview - Keane to miss out for Crawley

Posted Monday, October 20, 2014 by PA

Crawley will be without on-loan midfielder Keith Keane when they host Walsall.

Keane collected his fifth booking of the season against Notts County on Saturday and serves a one-match ban so skipper Josh Simpson, who is fit after a hamstring injury, could start in his place.

Boss John Gregory has a dilemma in goal after dropping Jamie Ashdown following his display in the 4-1 defeat by Peterborough, only to see his replacement Brian Jensen ship five at Meadow Lane.

Ryan Dickson remains on the sidelines with a knee injury so Rotherham loanee Mat Sadler continues at left-back.

Top scorer Tom Bradshaw remains a doubt for Walsall with a hamstring injury and the Saddlers are wary of risking him.

Key midfielder Sam Mantom is back in training but is unlikely to feature as he looks to gain fitness after being out since August.

Paul Downing could return after missing Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Crewe through illness while James Baxendale was a late substitute despite feeling sick.

Ben Purkiss should keep his place at right-back with James Chambers on the bench.
