SC Paderborn 07 vs Eintracht Frankfurt preview - Schaaf wants to see more belief

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Thomas Schaaf wants his side to show more belief in their trip to Paderborn this Sunday.

The former Werder Bremen coach is happy with the way things have gone so far this season for the Eagles, with 12 points and a share of fourth place after seven matches, but he believes they can do even better.

"We've been doing fantastically and we have a positive atmosphere and the courage to take on new ideas and build on the things we have done so far, but I would like us to show more self-confidence," Schaaf said on his club's website.

"We could be more active and convinced at times."

Those are attributes Schaaf says his side are going to need against a side who have created plenty of upsets already this season.

"They're doing a great job," Schaaf said. "They've done it perfectly right, taking the momentum from their promotion into the Bundesliga with them.

"The coach sets a positive example and tries to strengthen the team.

"I think they deserve to be in a strong league position and that they are worthy of the attention they are receiving.

"They certainly deserve to be respected like a big club."

With nine points from their first seven games of the season, the East Westphalian newcomers to the Bundesliga have already proven they are not just making up the numbers in the top flight.

Having already faced the likes of Bayern Munich, Hamburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen, they are now looking forward to opponents who were not expected to be challenging near the top.

"But they are still strong opponents," said their coach Andre Breitenreiter. "And we still want to get points against them in order to keep in the thick of things."
