Bradford 0 : 2 Sheffield United - Harris sets Blades on way to win

Bob Harris scored his first goal for Sheffield United to set them on their way to a 2-0 Yorkshire derby victory at 10-man Bradford.

Bradford's Jordan Pickford was the busier of the two goalkeepers in a lively first half, making saves to deny both Jamie Murphy and Jose Baxter as the visitors carried a greater threat in attack.

The Blades, who lost Jay McEveley with an arm injury in the 23rd minute, also had an appeal for a penalty turned down when a cross from Jamal Campbell-Ryce appeared to hit left-back Alan Sheehan on the arm.

Right-back Stephen Darby was sent off for a second bookable offence less than 30 seconds into the second half after pulling Murphy's shirt - he had been booked for the first time five minutes before the interval for a foul on Stefan Scougall.

The visitors took advantage of their numerical superiority in the 66th minute when left-back Bob Harris put them ahead. Murphy laid the ball back to him and he scored with a superbly placed left-foot shot into the far corner from 20 yards.

Bradford's best chance fell to Jason Kennedy, who sent a free header against a post from Mark Yeates' cross in the 80th minute before substitute Marc McNulty put the result beyond doubt three minutes later with his fifth goal of the season after taking the ball off defender Andrew Davies.
