Levante vs Real Madrid preview - Ancelotti - We're getting stronger

Carlo Ancelotti has warned Real Madrid's rivals that his side are even stronger now than they were last season ahead of Los Blancos' visit to Levante in the Primera Division on Saturday.

Madrid lost two of their opening three league matches but the reigning European champions have bounced back in emphatic style, winning their last six consecutive matches in all competitions.

Ancelotti's side have scored 27 goals in that period and look to be back to their free-flowing best with several key players starting to hit top form.

"The only problem is that we have conceded more goals than normal, but in terms of our play we're better than last year," Ancelotti told the club's official website.

"We had some difficulties at the beginning because August was difficult, as there were players coming back from the World Cup and they did not have time to prepare.

"Now we've had time to prepare and the team is in good shape, motivated and up for it."

The Italian added: "It isn't easy to score so many goals, but these players have incredible quality in terms of scoring goals and attacking well.

"It's always a collective effort, but the quality of the three up front is unique in the world."

Madrid's attacking trio of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema have bagged 20 goals in La Liga already this term.

Ronaldo is the league's top-scorer with 13 and the Portuguese sensation will be looking to add to his impressive tally against Levante, against whom he has seven in his last five outings.

"What doesn't surprise me about Cristiano Ronaldo is the quality he has. It's something I already knew," Ancelotti said.

"What does surprise me is the desire he has at this time to fight for the team, to score for the team and his level of professionalism, which is unique in the world of football and above all for a player of this level.

"It's very good for the team, because Cristiano is not just a goal-scorer but also an important leader, because of what he does. He doesn't talk a lot, but he works very hard and that's why he's a good example to everyone."

Saturday's match kicks off an important week for Real ahead of a Champions League tie at Liverpool on Wednesday and the first El Clasico of the campaign against league leaders Barcelona three days later.

Levante sit 17th in the table, one place above the relegation zone, and have managed only one win so far this season.

"If the match is back and forth you will usually get killed off because they are better," Les Granotes boss Jose Luis Mendilibar told the club's official website.

"We have to play a perfect match, without going crazy, and hope they make a mistake."
