Preston vs Port Vale preview - Grayson to recall big guns
Posted Friday, October 17, 2014 by PA
Preston will meet Port Vale at Deepdale for the second time in 12 days, but Simon Grayson expects to have a lot more players to choose from.
Scott Wiseman, Alan Browne, Will Hayhurst and Callum Robinson are all available again having been on international duty for North End's 3-2 win in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.
In that game, John Welsh (ankle) and Lee Holmes (chest) returned from injury to feature, while Kyel Reid made his first start following a long-term knee problem.
And the 12-day break means attacking duo Kevin Davies (ribs) and Andy Little (hamstring) also have a shot at featuring this time around.
Caretaker boss Rob Page has no new problems as he looks to further boost his hopes of securing a permanent position as Vale manager.
Achille Campion could be added to the squad after marking his return from a month-long absence with a thigh injury with two goals in a reserve-team outing on Wednesday afternoon.
Remie Streete will also hope to make his professional debut after the 19-year-old defender, on loan from Newcastle, sat on the bench against Yeovil last weekend.
Ryan McGivern is back from international duty but Jordan Slew remains on the sidelines as he completes a three-match ban.
