Crawley Town vs Peterborough United preview - Reds duo to miss out

Posted Friday, October 10, 2014 by PA

Crawley will be without Joe Walsh and Gwion Edwards when they host Peterborough.

Defender Walsh and winger Edwards this week received their first call-ups to the senior Wales squad for the Euro 2016 qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina and Cyprus.

Boss John Gregory is also missing Ryan Dickson due to a knee injury while Emmett O'Connor has a hamstring problem.

Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown, midfielder Jimmy Smith and striker Izale McLeod return after they were rested for Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Luton.

Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson will be without Gabriel Zakauni for the trip after he was called up by DR Congo.

On-loan winger Kenny McEvoy has been named in the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad but will return in time to play for Ferguson's side.

They are still without Kgosi Ntlhe (hamstring) but Jon Taylor travels despite still feeling the effects of a long-term knee injury that may require surgery. Winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing has started training again but misses out due to a lack of match fitness.

Midfielder Erhun Oztumer is pushing for a first start after making his debut from the bench in the 2-2 draw with Oldham.
