Caen vs Marseille preview - Lemina keeps his feet on the ground

Marseille midfielder Mario Lemina insists the club are not yet getting carried away by their stellar start to the season.

OM have been the runaway success story of the first eight matches of the Ligue 1 campaign, taking 19 points from a possible 24 and leading the division's scoring charts with 21 goals.

Champions Paris St Germain lie five points back in fourth place but Lemina thinks it is too early to be plotting a route to the title.

"We do not ask those questions," the 21-year-old said ahead of Saturday's trip to Caen.

"We look at the rankings of course, and we have taken the most points. So of course we are the leaders, but these are only the first matches.

"In mid-season, we will ask the right questions.

"We will continue trying for maximum points. For now, we have the momentum, we want to please the fans and have fun on the field."

Lemina's team-mate Romain Alessandrini, meanwhile, has warned that OM cannot afford to let their focus slide if they are to stay ahead of PSG and the chasing pack.

"We feel strong, but we can quickly be brought back down to earth," he said.

"We're five points clear of PSG...that's good, but when Paris have got into the groove and get up a head of steam, it'll be different."

Hosts Caen approach the match on a modest run which has yielded two points from their last five outings.

They have also failed to score in the last two, but coach Patrice Garande is not downcast.

"Every match is complicated but we try to take points wherever we go by having a coherent game plan," he said.

"We can't afford to second-guess ourselves - we have to go for it and get the points we need to reach our objectives."
