York City vs Portsmouth preview - Brunt may land York start

York manager Nigel Worthington must decide whether to throw new loan signing Ryan Brunt straight into his starting line-up against Portsmouth.

Brunt joined in a month-long deal from Bristol Rovers this week as Worthington bids to boost his side's goals tally. The Minstermen have failed to score in five of their last seven matches.

Worthington could be tempted to make several changes following last week's defeat at Dagenham, with defender John McCombe and wingers Anthony Straker and Lindon Meikle pushing for recalls.

York have no new injury or suspension worries as they chase their first home win of the season.

James Dunne should be fit for Portsmouth's second long trip in the space of a week.

The midfielder was withdrawn early on during last Saturday's goalless draw at Hartlepool after a clash of heads but is expected to be available.

Strikers Ryan Taylor (groin) and Nick Awford (shoulder) are also fit again after recent lay-offs and will come into contention along with winger Ricky Holmes (back).

But the match looks set to come too soon for skipper Ben Chorley, who is still recovering from a calf injury.
