Estoril claimed the first win of their Europa League campaign as they saw off Panathinaikos 2-0 thanks to two second-half goals on Thursday night.

Substitute Kleber scored the opener for the Portuguese side in the 52nd minute before Diogo Amado sealed the win 14 minutes later with a header from the middle of the box.

The result means Greek side Panathinaikos are now the only team in Group E without a win, leaving them at the bottom of the standings after Matchday Two.

Dinamo Moscow top the group following their 1-0 win over PSV Eindhoven which followed up their 2-1 victory over Panathinaikos in their opening match.

Kleber, who had replaced Bruno Lopes at the break, opened the scoring just seven minutes after his introduction following some good work by Junior Seba on the right wing. The striker charged down a clearance and picked up the loose ball before bursting into the area and then laying off a pass to Kleber, who found the net with a first-time finish.

Yohan Tavares had a good chance blocked for Estoril just after the hour mark but the home side did not have to wait for long to double their advantage.

Amado was the goalscorer this time, the midfielder timing his run into the box perfectly to meet Matias Cabrera's cross and head past Panathinaikos goalkeeper Stefanos Kotsolis in the 66th minute.

The visitors tried to ramp up the pressure in the closing minutes from the set piece, with Kleber clearing Nano Gonzalez's corner before Abdul Ajagun had a shot saved by Estoril keeper Vagner da Silva.

In the end they could not find their way through, leaving Estoril to claim a valuable victory and clean sheet.
