Crewe Alexandra 0 - 3 Notts County: County breeze past Crewe

Jake Cassidy netted twice and Shaun Harrad marked the first start of his second spell at Notts County with a goal as Shaun Derry's side cruised to a 3-0 win at struggling Crewe.

Cassidy put County ahead a minute before the interval with a deft finish from Garry Thompson's pull back across the box.

And the on-loan Wolves striker increased Crewe's plight at the bottom of the table in the 61st-minute when he polished off Liam Noble's low cross from inside the six-yard box after County caught their hosts on a swift counter attack.

Sandwiched inbetween those efforts, Harrad proved too quick for the Football League's worst defence when he drove home a deflected effort past Ben Garratt from 10 yards out after 51 minutes.

Harrad appeared to be itching to make his mark at his hometown club where he started his career 12 years ago, going close twice before Cassidy struck with the first. The 29-year-old drove an effort past the near post and then scooped over after Garratt spilled a shot from Cassidy.

Marcus Haber forced Roy Carroll into a low save after Cassidy's opener, but there was little to cheer for the Railwaymen at both ends as they sunk to their eighth defeat of the season.
