Goals from Djakaridja Kone and Cedric Barbosa lifted Evian off the bottom of Ligue 1 claimed a 2-0 victory at Lorient, their second straight win.

Kone set the visitors on their way with a second-minute strike and Barbosa sealed the win on the break late on before Lorient had Walid Mesloub sent off in injury time.

Pascal Dupraz's side built on the momentum from their Wednesday win over Lens as they took just three minutes to open the scoring.

Daniel Wass bent a dangerous free-kick into the box and the unmarked Kone rose to head past Benjamin Lecomte into the top corner of the net.

Jordan Ayew responded for Lorient by firing over the bar in the 13th minute then Gilles Sunu came closer on the half-hour when his 25-yard rocket crashed against the bar.

Lorient ended the first half on top and came close again four minutes from the break when Ayew met Sunu's cross with a glancing header which flashed inches wide.

Mesloub missed to the left four minutes into the second half and Lorient hit the woodwork for the second time in the 58th minute when Sunu steered a cross from substitute Sadio Diallo against the post.

Ayew saw a free-kick saved before Evian broke to effectively seal their win 11 minutes from time, Nicki Bille Nielsen's cross causing problems in the home box where Barbosa pounced to steer the ball beyond Lecomte.

To make a bad night even worse for the hosts, Mesloub was issued with a straight red card in injury time for kicking out at Nielsen.
