Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Arsene Wenger style dynasty at White Hart Lane

MAURICIO POCHETTINO says he dreams of building an empire at Tottenham just like Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

Pochettino is the 11th manager Spurs have tried in the 18 years Wenger has been at Arsenal.

The Argentine only arrived in the summer but knows that victory in his first north London derby tomorrow could be the perfect launchpad for his own big plans.

He said: "I have full respect for him - he is a great manager. An 18-year stay in charge is not easy. It's a big gap with me at Tottenham.

"Tottenham is a big job and it is a dream to stay here like him or to have time Arsene had in Arsenal.

"For this, I need to show my skill, I need to work hard, I need to get the results.

Spurs have only beaten Arsenal once on their own turf in the league since May 1993 - a 3-2 victory in November 2010.

Pochettino said: "I know it is a very important derby. It is very important for us and our supporters.

"You need to be aggressive, you need to be focused and you need to show all that you have inside.

"I know the history. But it is also important to write the history, starting now."

US investment group Cain Hoy has shelved plans to buy Tottenham.

A statement said the company was "No longer considering making an offer for Tottenham Hotspur."
