Roma continued their perfect start to the Serie A season with a a 2-0 win over Cagliari on Sunday.

Rudi Garcia's men have won all three of their league games so far without conceding and also claimed a 5-1 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League in midweek.

They were not quite as devastating against Cagliari, but two goals in three minutes from Mattia Destro and Alessandro Florenzi was enough to keep them among the early pacesetters.

Destro could have opened the scoring after just four minutes, but Alessio Cragno made a smart save.

The Italy striker did not have to wait long to score, though, as Florenzi found him in the box and he slotted home low off the far post.

The second was not long in coming, with Daniele De Rossi and Gervinho combining to find Florenzi, who fired home from the edge of the six-yard box and launched himself into the crowd to celebrate.

Luca Ceppitelli had the first chance for Cagliari as he got a head on Diego Farias' free-kick, but could only aim his effort over the bar.

The visitors had their tails up and Farias tried his luck from distance before Victor Ibarbo headed a corner over the bar.

Maicon fired widely off target early in the second half, but Cagliari continued to press and Roma goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis had to head away from outside his box to prevent Marco Sau having a chance.

Farias and Maicon saw further efforts fly over the bar before the latter crossed for Destro, but the goalscorer could only head over the bar.

Cagliari were searching for a way into the game and were only denied by De Sanctis, who did well to claw Samuel Longo's curling shot away from the top corner after an impressive run.

Ceppitelli then headed over from a corner with five minutes remaining, but the visitors could not find the breakthrough.
