Cordoba C.F. vs Sevilla preview - Ferrer eyeing first win

Cordoba coach Albert Ferrer is convinced a first Primera Division victory of the season is just around the corner.
Ferrer's promoted side head into Sunday's home clash with Andalusian rivals Sevilla still awaiting a three-point haul, but having lost only one of their three games to date, and that away to the mighty Real Madrid in a contest which was not over until Cristiano Ronaldo struck at the death.
Ferrer has been satisfied with the efforts of his players to date and is confident they will prosper if they continue to do what they have been doing.
He told a press conference: "Generally I'm very happy, having played against opponents who are not easy, and I have very good feelings
"I'm convinced that the first win is not far away, which would also be very good for the team."
The former Barcelona and Chelsea defender would love for that win to arrive this weekend, but is well aware of how tough it will be to overcome Europa League champions Sevilla.
He added: "Sevilla are a very strong and very solid team, who also work very hard. Defensively they allow very few chances. They are well-organised at the back and the midfielders don't move out of position much. And up front they have a lot of quality, with very decisive players."
Those comments are backed up by Sevilla's impressive start to the season, which sees them sitting in third place in La Liga, just two points adrift of leaders Barcelona.
Having been held to a 1-1 home draw by Valencia on the opening weekend of the season, Unai Emery's men have won at Espanyol and then on their own pitch against Getafe.
In addition, they launched their Europa League defence with a 2-0 victory over Dutch club Feyenoord on Thursday evening to underline their rich vein of form.
However, Emery knows he and his players can take nothing for granted at the Estadio Arcangel.
He said: "On Sunday we have a very important game in La Liga and we know how they're going to be there. It's been some time since they played against us and we are going to need everyone to ensure the team is strong."
