Stirling Albion 2 : 2 Forfar Athletic - Cunningham brace foils Forfar

Posted Sunday, September 21, 2014 by PA

Alex Cunningham's second-half double helped Stirling to a hard-earned point when they drew 2-2 with Forfar at Forthbank.

Omar Kader put the visitors in front after 12 minutes when he latched onto Danny Denholm's ball to neatly finish past Callum Reidford.

Steven Doris and Darren Smith came close to levelling for the home side but Forfar doubled their lead in the 71st minute when Gavin Swankie struck from six yards after another good piece of play from Denholm.

The comeback was on when Cunningham netted two minutes later with a crafty curling effort inside the box.

Then with four minutes left, Doris picked out Cunningham who fired low into the goal from close range to prevent his side from losing a second consecutive match.

Swankie had a good chance to win it late on but he pulled his shot wide.
