Peterhead 1 : 0 Stenhousemuir - Noble strike enough for Peterhead

Posted Sunday, September 21, 2014 by PA

Steven Noble's third-minute strike was enough to earn Peterhead a 1-0 win over Stenhousemuir at Balmoor.

Good work by James Redman found Noble who finished coolly to fire his side ahead early on.

Peterhead's James Stevenson missed a great chance to double his side's lead as his shot skimmed wide, and the Warriors' Ross McMillan missed a glorious chance from six yards when he pulled his effort wide.

Josh Watt and Tom Walsh squandered shots in the second half as the visitors dominated but failed to find a leveller.

Martin Grehan's curling effort was saved brilliantly by the Blue Toon's Martin Grehan and Rory McAllister came close to making it two, pulling his shot wide inside the box, but Peterhead held on for their first win in four matches.
