Greenock Morton 2 : 1 Dunfermline - Pepper pops up with winner

Conor Pepper scored 14 minutes from time to help Morton leapfrog Dunfermline in Scottish League One with a 2-1 win.

It was Morton's fourth win in their last five and they are now just one point behind leaders Ayr.

Andrew Barrowman nearly fired the home side into an early lead but he squandered a great effort from close range inside two minutes by firing over.

Declan McManus opened the scoring inside half an hour when he struck inside the box after good work from Sean Crighton.

McManus nearly got his second as he pulled a shot just wide in the second half before the Pars levelled through Ross Millen. After Josh Falkingham was fouled in the box, the defender stepped up to fire home the resulting spot-kick.

The visitors were behind again four minutes later, though, when Pepper headed home Andrew Barrowman's cross and the Ton held on for the win.
