Tranmere Rovers 1 : 2 Exeter City - Moore-Taylor fires City to victory

Jordan Moore-Taylor's stunning second-half header gave Exeter their second straight away win with a 2-1 victory at Tranmere.

Graham Cummins had opened the scoring for City before Danny Holmes equalised for Rovers but Moore-Taylor dived in for the winner that will boost the Grecians.

The visitors took a sixth-minute lead when David Wheeler's cheeky lob was only palmed goalwards by the stranded Owain Fon Williams for Cummins to head home.

Eliot Richards saw his powerful strike parried by Exeter 'keeper Christy Pym at the other end.

But Holmes' deflected shot found the bottom corner from the edge of the box to pull Rovers level on 25 minutes.

Cole Stockton missed a sitter on the half hour when he dragged the ball wide after more good work from Holmes.

Stockton then headed another chance over the bar before the break and Tranmere were made to pay when Moore-Taylor's spectacular 69th-minute diving header went in off the underside of the crossbar.

Marc Laird fired into the side netting as Rovers sought another leveller but Cummins should have headed in a third for City but missed the target with the goal at his mercy.
