Plymouth got back on the League Two winning track with a 2-0 home victory over Hartlepool at Home Park thanks to goals by Marvin Morgan and second-half substitute Nathan Thomas.
Target man Morgan finished Plymouth's best move of the first half with a clinical 14th-minute finish from the left edge of the box.
Five-goal top scorer Reuben Reid teed recalled fellow forward Morgan up for the goal after good work from midfielder Lee Cox.
Reid skimmed a header just wide from Morgan's cross from the left on 38 minutes as Plymouth piled on the pressure.
Hartlepool's best first-half chance came in stoppage time with lively Jonathan Franks forcing a lunging save from home keeper Luke McCormick.
Injured Reid (ribs) was replaced at half time by substitute Nathan Thomas, who beat the offside trap to race through and score in the 77th minute following a defence-splitting pass from recalled midfielder Dominic Blizzard.
