Brechin City vs Ayr Utd. preview - Tapping missing for Brechin

Unbeaten Brechin City will be without midfielder Callum Tapping who suffered a knee injury in last weekend's 5-0 win at Stirling when they face Ayr United.

Glebe Park boss Ray McKinnon said: "We played well last week and were ruthless when we had chances and hopefully we will continue in that manner. It was disappointing to lose Callum however Alan Trouten came off the bench and scored twice so we have strength in depth.

"Ayr will be looking to bounce back after losing to Stranraer last weekend but a win would take us above them in the table and that is a more than decent incentive."

Ayr add Kevin McKinlay to their squad after the defender passed a fitness test and the Honest Men will include former Motherwell and Celtic striker Paul Slane for the second time as a trialist.

The Somerset Park side may give a first start to former Scotland striker Craig Beattie.

"We will need everyone to do their jobs to a high standard to win," player/manager Mark Roberts said. "We did well against Stranraer but did not score when we were on top and paid the price by losing 2-0.

"We have to show that we can get back on the winning trial quickly and hopefully we will do that in this game."
