Deportivo La Coruna vs Real Madrid preview - Depor braced for Real backlash

Deportivo La Coruna midfielder Juanfran expects to encounter an "enraged" Real Madrid when they visit the Riazor on Saturday.

Carlo Ancelotti's team have endured a miserable start to their Primera Division campaign, suffering back-to-back losses since scraping past Cordoba in their opening match.

Last week Madrid fans jeered their team off at the Bernabeu following the derby defeat to Atletico Madrid.

As a former Real Madrid player, Juanfran knows all about the club's rivalry with Atletico, and he expects Ancelotti's side to be fired up and ready to prove a point when they play Deportivo this weekend.

"We are playing against one of the best teams in the world and they come here enraged," Juanfran told a press conference.

"They are a great team and it will be very difficult to get a result but we are going to fight for it.

"We are going to try to make some things hard for them and try to get some points."

Juanfran, who hails from Madrid, signed for the 10-time European champions in 2010, but left for Real Betis three years later having played just once for Los Blancos.

The Spaniard was on the losing side against Madrid on two occasions last year - one of which was a 5-0 humbling - but he has no fears about facing Ancelotti's star-studded team.

The 26-year-old insists Deportivo are full of confidence after their first win of the season against Eibar on Monday.

"I don't feel any butterflies playing against Real Madrid any more," said Juanfran, who is on loan at Deportivo from Betis.

"That win (over Eibar) was fundamental for us because we have Real Madrid coming here and then after we have one of the most beautiful matches of the season, the derby against Celta Vigo."

Madrid bounced back from their derby defeat with a 5-1 hammering of Basle in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Karim Benzema insists the team has not been affected by the disquiet among the fans because of the poor start to the season.

"The jeering is not a problem," the Real Madrid striker told reporters after the win over Basle.

"They (the Real Madrid fans) jeered at me last year. They have whistled at Iker (Casillas), they have done it to the best, the likes of (Cristiano) Ronaldo and (Zinedine) Zidane, so it doesn't worry me."

Benzema has scored twice in seven matches this season, which is not enough for some Madrid fans, who have singled the striker out for criticism.

Benzema, who found the net 22 times last year, thinks his role as provider for the likes of Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez limits his ability to score, but he is sure he will find the net more as the season progresses.

"I could play for me, but I am a team player," Benzema said.

"I am going to carry on like that and I am sure the goals will come."

Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal looks set to be fit for Saturday's game after he returned to training following a hamstring strain.
