Portsmouth vs Wycombe Wanderers preview - Pompey wait on duo

Portsmouth will check on Nicky Shorey and Ricky Holmes ahead of Wycombe's visit to Fratton Park.

Full-back Shorey missed the 3-0 midweek win over Dagenham with a calf injury and winger Holmes was absent due to an ongoing back problem, but boss Andy Awford is hopeful both will be available,

Skipper Ben Chorley remains sidelined however, having returned to training last week following a dead leg only to suffer a calf injury.

Striker Patrick Agyemang is set to keep his place after impressing on his first start of the season against the Daggers having recently recovered from a hamstring injury.

Wycombe will assess attackers Paris Cowan-Hall and Steven Craig before they make the trip.

The pair missed the wins over Mansfield and Plymouth and will be monitored by the Chairboys' medical team ahead of kick-off, but even if they are passed fit the duo may struggle to break into the starting line-up.

The Blues' 1-0 win at Home Park extended their impressive unbeaten run and boss Gareth Ainsworth could stick with the same XI that saw off the Pilgrims.

If he does decide to freshen up his team then he could turn to the likes of Matt Bloomfield and Aaron Holloway.
