Lorient vs Stade Reims preview - Vasseur keen to build on win

Reims coach Jean-Luc Vasseur is hoping his team can now kick on after claiming their first win of the season last week against Toulouse.

The new boss had endured a tumultuous start to his spell at the Stade Auguste Delaune, taking just one point from his opening four games at the helm.

But he leads his team into Saturday's clash at Lorient on the back of a 2-0 win over Alain Casanova's men and hopes his players can now approach the rest of the season with more confidence.

"We saw that this team is capable of winning," Vasseur told a press conference.

"It must continue to do so, learning to keep winning is the goal of the upcoming games."

He added: "Winning is nice although the performance can be better. So we keep what we are doing in training.

"It is in the mind, in the head you feel better that this team is capable of winning."

Gregory Bourillon will make his first return to the Stade du Moustoir since switching Lorient for Reims in the summer and the utility man is happy to be heading back to the club where he spent four years.

"Yes, it makes me happy always," he told www.fclweb.fr. "When the fixture list came out, I immediately looked at the date of the match at the Moustoir.

"I still have many friends and acquaintances there. I am very happy to see them."

Lorient have no new injury worries, with Julien Quercia still out with a foot injury and Yann Jouffre struggling with a groin problem.

Maxime Barthelme is set for a run out for the reserves as he makes his way back from cruciate ligament damage and boss Sylvain Ripoll is glad the midfielder is on his way back towards the first team.

"When a player comes out of such an injury it is an important time and the staff are very pleased, that's a good thing for the club," he told a press conference.
