Jonny Howson (knee) and Gary Hooper (dead leg) will play for the Under-21s against Leicester on Friday as they step up their fitness while deadline-day signing Ignasi Miquel will also take part.
Birmingham go to Norfolk without defender Neal Eardley who is out for up to a month after injuring his medial ligament in Tuesday's 2-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
Koby Arthur is struggling with a tight hamstring after he was recalled from his loan spell at Cheltenham.
Lee Novak is sidelined with a knee injury while Olly Lee (hamstring) and Denny Johnstone (thigh) are both still out but closing in on a return.
