Preston North End vs Crawley Town preview - Humphrey back for Preston
Posted Friday, September 19, 2014 by PA
Midfielder Chris Humphrey is set to return for Preston against Crawley after missing Tuesday's 3-3 home draw with Chesterfield with a slight knock.
North End boss Simon Grayson will also give late fitness tests to Andy Little, who is recovering from a hamstring strain, and John Welsh, who has an ankle problem.
Loanee Callum Robinson and the fit-again Kyel Reid will be pushing for starting places after coming off the bench in midweek.
However, Lee Holmes is still ruled out and Jordan Hugill has had an exploratory operation on his knee while suspended.
Crawley will be unable to call upon on-loan Keith Keane, who is ineligible to face his parent club, but fellow midfielder Marvin Elliott will be added to the squad after joining on a short-term deal on Thursday.
Manager John Gregory also hopes to have defender Lanre Oyebanjo (thigh) and winger Gwion Edwards (ankle) available after they missed the goalless draw at Doncaster in midweek.
Skipper Josh Simpson is on the mend having been out since the opening day of the season with an ankle injury but he is unlikely to return just yet.
Jamie Ashdown looks set to keep his place in goal having displaced veteran Brian Jensen against Rovers.
