Portsmouth 3 : 0 Dagenham and Redbridge - Dunne shines in Pompey triumph

James Dunne scored a fabulous goal to inspire Portsmouth to a 3-0 win over 10-man Dagenham which ended the home side's run of three successive league defeats.
Dunne's excellent strike five minutes before half-time lit up a match lacking in quality before Jed Wallace and substitute Andy Barcham sealed victory with second-half strikes.
For the opener, burly striker Patrick Agyemang held the ball up on the edge of the 18-yard box before rolling it the path of Dunne, who smashed a fierce left-foot shot into the roof of the net.
The Daggers came agonisingly close to grabbing an equaliser on the stroke of half-time when a 30-yard pile-driver from Ashley Chambers rebounded off the crossbar.
However, the visitors were facing a seemingly impossible task when Andre Boucaud was shown a second yellow card for a reckless tackle on the busy Agyemang 17 minutes into the second period.
Pompey were then awarded a penalty with 21 minutes remaining, which Wallace converted, and he teed up Barcham to seal the points in stoppage time.
