AFC Wimbledon vs Burton preview - Dons duo to miss out

AFC Wimbledon will still be without Harry Pell and Jack Smith when they host leaders Burton.

Midfielder Pell completes a three-match ban for his red card against Southend a fortnight ago and full-back Smith is two weeks away from a return after a knee injury.

Boss Neal Ardley will check on veteran defender Andy Frampton, who was not risked at Accrington at the weekend despite coming through a reserve game last week following a broken ankle.

Teenage midfielder Tom Beere impressed in Saturday's narrow 1-0 defeat and should keep his place despite hobbling off in the second half, while winger George Francomb could start after making his return as a second-half substitute following three weeks out with a toe injury.

Burton boss Gary Rowett is expected to pick from an unchanged squad.

Rowett must decide whether to select the same starting XI for a third successive match or make changes to his team.

The likes of Jacob Blyth, Callum McFadzean, Dominic Knowles, Matty Palmer, Liam Slade and Marcus Harness are options should the Albion manager opt to alternate one or two things.

Knee injuries keep Lee Bell, Damien McCrory and Jimmy Phillips on the sidelines. However, left-back McCrory could be back in full training in the next 10 days or so.
