Doncaster vs Crawley preview - Forrester suspended for Reds visit

Posted Monday, September 15, 2014 by PA

Doncaster will be without the suspended Harry Forrester when Crawley visit the Keepmoat Stadium.

Forrester was sent off for the second time this season after receiving two yellow cards, the second of which was for kicking the ball away, during the 3-0 defeat at Bristol City at the weekend and the forward now starts a two-match ban.

Rovers will also be forced to make a change in the centre of defence with Rob Jones suffering a hamstring injury against the Robins. Jamie McCombe, who came on as a replacement for the skipper at Ashton Gate, or Liam Wakefield will be recalled.

The likes of Dean Furman, Nathan Tyson and Marc De Val Fernandez are also options for Doncaster boss Paul Dickov should he wish to make further changes.

Crawley will check on Gwion Edwards after he missed Saturday's 1-0 victory over Fleetwood.

The winger suffered an ankle injury on international duty with Wales' Under-21s but the problem is not thought to be serious so he could be in contention.

However, boss John Gregory may stick with the side which ended a run of four straight league defeats with their hard-fought weekend win. New loan signings Josh Wright, Keith Keane and Mat Sadler all started as Gregory made five changes from the 4-0 drubbing by Rochdale a week earlier.

Skipper Josh Simpson is still out with an ankle injury but the midfielder has been given the green light to resume training and should be back in action soon.
