LEEDS owner Massimo Cellino is on a collision course with Football League chief executive Shaun Harvey.
COLLISION COURSE: Cellino and Harvey set for a duel of the minds
Cellino is fuming with Harvey following his claim on Tuesday that the Italian could be forced to sell the club.
The multi-millionaire was originally blocked from buying the club last season due to a conviction for tax evasion in his homeland.
He overturned the Football League decision on appeal but Harvey insists the club could be plunged into a fresh crisis if Cellino is criticised when the written judgement in the case is made public.
Cellino believes Harvey has an agenda against him as he used to help run the club under the previous ownership of Ken Bates.
A source close to Leeds said: "The intervention by Shaun Harvey at this stage is both unhelpful and inappropriate given the restructuring of the club, but also the fact that the case is still on-going.
"You have to question the neutrality of his comments given his previous relationship with Leeds and raise the issue of a potential conflict of interest considering his previous dealings at Elland Road.
"The club believes the chief executive officer of the Football League should have acted with more discretion."
Meanwhile, former stars Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Dominic Matteo have joined Robbie Fowler in the race to become Leeds' new manager
