In a press conference on Friday morning, Florentino Pérez played down the importance of Cristiano Ronaldo's remarks seemingly questioning the club's transfer dealings this summer.

Claims star didn't intend to question club - Florentino:

Cristiano's controversial comments: "I know him very well. He's the best player in the world and his loyalty to Real Madrid is unquestionable. I've listened to the full interview and since I know him, I know he wasn't undermining the club. We have a fantastic relationship and there is no quarrel with him".

Pérez also discussed a number of other hot topics, such as Ángel di María and Xabi Alonso's exit and Falcao's move to Manchester United.

Di María's departure: "I first took up this position in the year 2000. A lot of players have left over the years and others have come in. Di María and the others that have departed will always have our affection, admiration and respect. If a player leaves when they're under contract, it's because it was their choice: Real Madrid have always honoured our contracts. His financial aspirations were fair enough, but we couldn't satisfy them".

Xabi's move to Bayern: "I have a very good relationship with Alonso. He came to see us to urge us to let him leave. He felt it was the best solution for both him and the club. We have an excellent relationship and we granted his wish. We are well stocked in the position with Kroos and Illarramendi; Xabi is nearing the end of his career and that's how he wants to approach it".

Florentino went on to deny that the club snubbed the chance to sign Falcao because Jorge Mendes is his agent: "We considered bringing Falcao on board, but we decided against it. The coach's opinion on the matter was an important factor in this decision".

At the forthcoming General Assembly on 21st September, Florentino Pérez will regale the club's members with the official accounts for the 2013/14 season, which include record revenues of 603.9 million. This represents a 10.9% increase on the previous campaign.
