Roma midfielder prepares for United switch

Not only are Manchester United apparently interested in Kevin Strootman, but Strootman is apparently interested in Manchester United ...
Shockign news. It appears that Manchester United's decision to spend some of their money, a decision that ruined football in general and the club's own proud reputation in particular, was not enough. No, United intend to spend even more of their own money in January, presumably ruining football and themselves all over again.
Some of that money, it appears, will be spent on AS Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman. Van Gaal's affection for the player is well known, and now the Mirror think they've identified a Significant Development. Has he bought a house in Manchester? Been learning the chords to 'Come On You Reds'? Had Eric Cantona's face tattooed over his own?
The Holland international - who missed the World Cup - is doing all he can to ready himself for the move. Strootman, 24, has ditched his agent Chiel Dekker and has joined SEG - the Sports Entertainment Group - who were involved in Robin van Persie's move from Arsenal to United.
Oh. That's ... something.
Strootman, of couse, sustained a serious knee injury halfway through last season and hasn't played any football since then, missing the Netherlands' LVG-inspired run to the World Cup semi-finals. So, new agent notwithstanding, there will presumably there will be a bit of due diligence first. No good having the right representation if you can't run, Kevin.
