Close call for Inigo Martinez

Real Sociedad player Inigo Martinez had a lucky escape on Tuesday night after losing control of his car on a curve when coming out of a tunnel. The side of the vehicle ended up crashing into a rock on the side of the road.

The accident took place at 20:30 on the road that links the districts of Mutriku, where he had been having lunch with some of his teammates and Real Madrid player Illarramendi, and Ondarroa, his home town, to which he was travelling. The Basque defender had taken advantage of his day off to have lunch with Sociedad teammates Ansotegi, Zubikarai, Vela and Markel Bergara and Illarramendi, who on Sunday had decided to stay in his hometown after the game at the Anoeta stadium.
