Bordeaux vs Bastia preview - Rolan targets top-three finish

Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan is eyeing Champions League qualification as Willy Sagnol's men look to make it four wins out of four against Bastia on Sunday.

The hosts go into the clash top of Ligue 1 - the only side still with a 100 per cent record.

They have scored eight goals in their opening three games, including two from 21-year-old Uruguayan Rolan, whose form has earned him his first call-up to the national squad.

"We want to qualify for Europe or even finish in the top three - that's what we're working towards," he told the club's official website.

"We've had a good start, but for now our only priority is the match against Bastia this Sunday. We want to win and keep this good run going. We need to keep playing the way we've played so far."

Bordeaux have seen off Montpellier and Nice and, in between times, recorded a hugely impressive 4-1 win over title hopefuls Monaco.

Rolan was on target twice in that match and is keen for the goals to keep coming.

"Of course I want to score - that's what I'm here for," he said. "But I don't set myself specific objectives, I prefer to take things one match at a time. If it's me that gets the goal that's great, but if it's somebody else then that's great too - the only thing that matters is that the team wins."

Sunday's opponents Bastia have four points from their opening three games, having beaten Toulouse 1-0 last time out.

The visitors will once again by without striker Brandao, suspended following his headbutt on Paris St Germain's Thiago Motta.
