Brechin City 1 : 1 Peterhead - Brown comes to Peterhead's rescue
Posted Sunday, August 31, 2014 by PA
Substitute Jordan Brown rescued a point for Peterhead by scoring four minutes from time in a 1-1 draw with Brechin.
The midfielder scored nine minutes after entering the pitch to cancel out Paul McLean's opener.
A feisty first half saw Brechin emerge the brightest, dominating both play and possession. Their first-half endeavours were rewarded with a penalty just before the break, however Andrew Jackson could not convert, with Graeme Smith saving well down to his right.
The Glebe Park men eventually broke the deadlock fours minutes into the second period thanks to McLean's instinctive finish.
Despite their dominance, City could not hang on as Brown nodded in a late equaliser from Graeme Sharp's cross.
Ray McKinnon's side continued their unbeaten start to the season as a result, but both sides dropped a place in the table.
