Brechin City vs Peterhead preview - City hopeful of Masson involvement

Brechin hope to complete the loan signing of Aberdeen midfielder Jamie Masson ahead of kick-off against visitors Peterhead.

Alan Trouten is the only injury doubt for the Glebe Park men who are out for revenge following their recent Petrofac Training Cup exit at the hands of the Blue Toon.

Manager Ray McKinnon said: "Peterhead are a good side but they got a break with their opening goal and then they sat in.

"We just did not have the guile to break them down. They broke and scored a second so it would be nice to make up for that result by winning this one."

Peterhead welcome back recent signing Mark Millar after he picked up a knee injury in only his second game.

Former Brechin striker Rory McAllister is banned with Ryan McCann (calf), Dean Cowie (knee) and Fraser McLaren (hamstring) all ruled out while Reece Donaldson is rated as doubtful.

Manager Jim McInally said: "It would be terrific to repeat that recent win however we know it will be difficult.

"It will probably be harder as the element of surprise that newly promoted teams can have is gone - we will need to work hard to make up for it."
