MK Dons vs Crawley preview - Hodson doubt for Dons

Lee Hodson remains a doubt for MK Dons as they prepare to return to league action against Crawley.

Hodson had to sit out Tuesday night's extraordinary 4-0 victory over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup with the injury he sustained at Chesterfield and the full-back may be absent for a third successive match.

Dons boss Karl Robinson made two changes against United. Samir Carruthers replaced Daniel Powell while David Martin overcame the injury which saw him ruled out of the Coventry game and he took over in goal from Ian McLoughlin.

Benik Afobe came off the bench to score twice against Louis van Gaal's men and the striker will be pushing for a starting place on Saturday, with the likes of Powell, Danny Green, Jordan Spence, Mark Randall and Tom Hitchcock also options for Robinson.

Matt Harrold hopes to make his debut for Crawley.

The striker has yet to make an appearance since joining from Bristol Rovers in the summer as he recovered from a knee op, but he is now back to full fitness and was an unused substitute at Norwich in midweek.

Skipper Josh Simpson remains sidelined by the ankle injury he suffered against Barnsley on the opening day of the season, but boss John Gregory hopes he will be back within a week.

Izale McLeod, who scored 71 goals over two spells with the Dons, leads the line against his old club.
