Dunfermline 3 : 0 Airdrie United - Pars off the mark
Posted Sunday, August 24, 2014 by PA
Dunfermline swept to their first league victory of the season and left Airdrie struggling without a point following a 3-0 win at East End Park.
The Pars hit the front with a quarter of the game gone, Frenchman Faissal El Bakhtaoui crossing for young English striker Gozie Ugwu to convert.
Andrew Geggan should have doubled the lead with a clear headed chance, but hit the crossbar.
However Michael Moffat did not waste his opportunity five minutes before the break, converting from six yards from another fine El Bakhtaoui cross.
The match was wrapped up for Jim Jefferies' men 10 minutes from time when Ugwu scored a fine solo goal.
