Glasgow Rangers vs Dumbarton preview - Aird out for Rangers
Posted Friday, August 22, 2014 by PA
Rangers midfielder Fraser Aird is out of the Scottish Championship clash with Dumbarton after suffering a knee knock during Monday's win over Clyde.
Striker Kenny Miller (hamstring) is struggling to make the game while Richard Foster (calf) is still out, but midfielder Ian Black is fit again.
Striker Jon Daly (knee) has returned to light training but he and midfielder Arnold Peralta (groin) remain on the sidelines along with goalkeeper Cammy Bell (shoulder).
Dumbarton are at full strength as they look to put a disappointing start to their league campaign behind them at Ibrox.
Manager Ian Murray said: "This is a massive game and one that we want to compete in. We were disappointing against Queen of the South last weekend and their 4-0 win was not undeserved as we were well below standard.
"That result will not have an effect on this game but it will have an effect on the team I select.
"It is a big ask to go to Rangers and win but our players are in this division on merit and they will hopefully start showing that now."
